We post that AAMI updated Comprehensive Guide to Steam Sterilization and Strility Assurance from Infection Control Today on Jan 11, 2018.
According to the report, Qualification test has to be performed when the special cases happen.
1. A new sterilizer is installed.
2. A sterilizer is relocated.
3. A sterilizer malfunctions.
4. A sterilizer or its utilities has had a major repair and after strilization process failure that requrires a major repair.
For Qulification test, the below tests are required.
1. Three leak tests
2. Three Bowie-dick tests
3. Three biological tests including the BI PCD tests
Beacuse all sterilizers need to take qualification tests as well, we woudl like to share this report.
